Project/Coordinated Action for the Integrated
Control of the aphid Toxoptera citricida, main vector of Citrus
Tristeza Virus between the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA) and the
Estación Fitopatolóxica do Areeiro (EFA), in the framework of
the Subprogram of Agricultural Resources and Technology research projects
between Spanish regions of the
National Agriculture and
Food Technology Research Institute (INIA).
The main vector
of Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV), the aphid Toxoptera citricida, has been
recently detected in the Iberian Peninsula. At present, it is widely
disseminated in the Iberian Peninsula. This project aims to establish the basis
for the control of T. citricida within an Integrated Pest Management
program. One of the subprojects will be carried out by the Estación
Fitopatolóxica do Areeiro
EFA. Its main aim
will be to determine the level of incidence of the pest and the occurrence of
natural enemies on citrus trees, and the treatment thresholds against T.
citricida. The other subproject will be performed in Alicante province to
determine the evolution of citrus aphid population and the natural enemies
naturally occurring on lemon trees. |
