|On February 10th, at the
Hostal of the Catholic Monarchs, in Santiago de Compostela, it was presented
the second volume of the book "Investigadoras Galegas" (Galician women
researchers), including interviews made to 50 women contributing to scientific
research in Galicia.
One of the interviewed researchers was Dra.
Carmen Salinero, in charge of the Fruit and Ornamentals Department of the
(Deputación de Pontevedra). Since 1984, she studies several
aspects of cultivation and quality of kiwifruit, and of adaptation of exotic
fruit species. In the ornamental field, she mainly works on camellia,
maintaining and enlarging the camellia collection of the Deputación de
