ABSTRACT: In 2002, it took place the IV Survey to determine the presence of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus in Galicia. Table 1 displays the total number of analyzed samples in each Galician province, 372 in total. Methodology and extraction techniques were developed according to the UE protocols established for this organism. Results of the survey are shown in table 2 in which Bursaphelenchus xylophilus was not detected. Other specimens of Bursaphelenchus spp were detected, but the species was not determined yet, and they have been submitted to the Reference Laboratory (CSIC-CCMA- Madrid), however their morphological characteristics neither they are not similar to those Bursaphelenchus xylophilus nor to other species whose morphological and morphometric features are very close to B. xylophilus |
