PINE
Processionary:

Thaumetopoea pytiocampa caterpillar processionThaumetopoea pityocampa is beginning to march towards the soil to pupate. Their caterpillars have irritating hairs, thus they can't be handled (dogs are also sensitive).





APPLE TREE
Scab:

Those plants belonging to sensitive varieties such as 'Golden' that in the last year were severely affected by this fungus are advised to be treated when they reach phenological stage C3. A contact fungicide, such as captan, mancozeb or Tiram can be used as a preventive treatment.

STONE FRUIT TREES
Shothole and Cylindrosporium:

In the last years, many fruit trees (cherry trees, peach trees, ...) growing in our area are being affected by these fungal pathogens. At present, many fruit trees are in their blooming period. When petals fall, especially with moist conditions, it is advised to apply a preventive treatment with dodina or mancozeb.

ORNAMENTALS
Sucking insects:

With good weather, attention must be given to new and tender shoots of these plants, to detect the attack of aphids or scale insects, and act while populations are still low.
