PHYTOSANITARY WARNING
09/06/2009
SEVERAL
CROPS |
Damage by
winds: |
Winds recorded
yesterday broke new shoots of some crops and even branches from trees belonging
to several species. Branches are torn by the wind, and these wounds are a way
of entry for several pathogens. Thus, it is advised to remove shoots and
broken branches and apply a healing product (such as captan) as soon as
rain stops.
|
Aphids: |
We are still observing colonies belonging to several aphid
species in agricultural, ornamental and forestry crops. It is advised to
treat whenever symptoms appear.
|
GRAPEVINE |
Oidium
: |
In the
warning of July 4th we reported the appearance of the first symptoms of oidium.
In case plants were previously treated with sulphur, this treatment could have
been washed away by the rain, thus it must be applied again (a
systemic fungicide antioidium can be also applied) as soon as weather become
more stable.
|
WALNUT TREE |
Anthracnose
: |
We
detected new symptoms of anthracnose on leaves, which have been favoured by the
rainy weather occurring during these days. Even though treatments against the
disease are more effective if applied from shoot development, it is advised to
apply a mancozeb or miclobutanil based product at this stage.
