GRAPEVINE Phenological stage:Bunch closure
Mildew:Ver Fotos

Unstable environmental conditions occurring at present, still favour the development of the disease, and in fact untreated plants show new symptoms of the disease, both on leaves and bunches. In our monitoring plots the disease is controlled, but in the laboratory we are receiving several samples with untreated mildew on the bunch. Thus, and given the severity of the disease in the last few weeks, we should treat if the previous protection period is about to conclude or in case new symptoms are observed. Applications should be mainly focused on bunch protection.

Oidium:Ver Fotos

New symptoms have been only observed on sucker shoots. However, in case the grapevine is not protected, it will be necessary to apply an antimildew treatment; a funguicide antioidium is adviced to protect bunches at this phenological stage.

Botrytis: Ver Fotos

Some bunches which have been severely affected by mildew show skin cracks through which the fungus can penetrate. In those grapevines showing the disease and/or in those highly sensitive varieties a preventive treatment directed to the bunch must be applied.

Moths:Ver Fotos

The number of captures in the traps is still low, only eggs or larval penetrations are occasionally observed. It is not necessary to treat.

Green mosquito and other cicadellidae:Ver Fotos

Cicadellids- Zygina rhamni adult on leaf underside. The captures of Zygina rhamni in the traps have been higher than last week's. However, given the current population it is not necessary to treat yet.

Mites:Ver Fotos

Calepitrimerus vitis - Acariose first symptomsIn general, symptoms related to mite presence have remained unchanged. We have also received the first leaf samples with specimens of Calepitrimerus vitis (rust mite). Surveillance should be increased, but in case symptoms are observed and if specific monitoring is not carried out, now it is necessary to treat.

Wood diseases:Ver Fotos

Eutypa and Esca complex - Plant symptomsPlants with symptoms of any wood disease should be marked to differentiate them from the rest when carrying out opportune measures.

Scab:Ver Fotos

First spots of apple scabWe have observed symptoms of the disease, mainly on most tender leaves. It is advised to keep the plants protected

Cydia pomonella:Ver Fotos

Cydia pomonella male captures in a week The number of captures recorded during this week has been higher; thus it is necessary to treat to avoid larval penetrations

Red spider:Ver Fotos

We have been receiving samples of apple trees, mainly belonging to Reineta variety, with abundant populations of red mite. We recommend treating if leaves show a bronzed appearance, which is characteristic of the mite attack.

Altica quercetorum:Ver Fotos

According to the information given, we have been observing symptoms of attack of these defoliator coleoptera. The only phytosanitary products recommended by the Ministry for the control of these insects on oak are deltamethrin (controlling adults and larvae) and flufenoxuron (against larvae).
