GRAPEVINE Phenological stage: bunch closure
Mildew:Ver Fotos

The unstable conditions recorded will make it necessary to treat whenever precipitations stop to avoid any damage to the bunch. Although the grapevine is protected by a previous treatment, we must be aware that precipitations occurring have been enough to wash away any contact fungicide and to reduce the effect of penetrating fungicides. In addition, due to the high environmental moisture, we recommend to eliminate the vegetation excess around bunches, removing leaves and prune if shoots impede grape aeration.

Oidium:Ver Fotos

The risk of attack of this pathogen to the bunch is not high.

Botrytis: Ver Fotos

Along this week we have observed the first berries affected by botrytis. As we have reported in the previous phytosanitary warning, the fungus has established in the skin cracks as a consequence of the severe mildew outbreak observed in the last week, favoured by the climatic conditions (heat and high humidity). It is necessary to treat, focusing the applications on bunches.

Moths:Ver Fotos

The number of captures in the traps has still been low. Eggs and larval penetrations are occasionally observed. It is not necessary to treat.

Green mosquito and other cicadellidae:Ver Fotos

Once again the number of Zygina rhamni and Empoasca vitis captures recorded in the traps has been high. However, it is not necessary to treat.

Mites:Ver Fotos

We have not observed any symptoms of mite attack or populations in leaf surveys. It is not necessary to treat.

Wood diseases:Ver Fotos

Eutypa and Esca complex - Plant symptomsWe should mark those plants with symptoms of any wood disease to differentiate them from the rest when carrying out opportune measures.

Scab:Ver Fotos

Fruit with scab symptomsAlthough new symptoms have not been reported yet, whenever precipitations stop, treatments should be renewed to protect developing fruits.

Cydia pomonella:Ver Fotos

We did not have captures in the pheromone traps placed in our monitoring plots. Anyway, plants should be checked to search for any sign of larval penetrations in the fruits.

Red spider:Ver Fotos

Environmental conditions were not favorable for mite development

Altica quercetorum:Ver Fotos

According to the information given, signs of attack of this defoliator have been observed. We must be aware that the only chemicals recommended by the Ministry for the control of these insects on oak are deltamethrin (controlling both adults and larvae) and flufenoxuron (against larvae).

Processionary:Ver Fotos

Thaumetopoea pytiocampa (Processionary) - Processionary in pheromone trap On the basis of the captures registered in the traps placed on pine trees, we know that the Lepidoptera has initiated its flight (maximum number of captures: nine males).
