PHYTOSANITARY WARNING
30/04/2009
GRAPEVINE |
Mildew: |
This week
we found the first oily spot in one of the monitoring plots in O Salnés.
All grapevines should have received a first treatment against the disease,
but in case it had not been treated yet, it is strongly recommended to do
it, since weather forecast announces higher temperatures and so spots are
expected to widespread.
|
Oidium: |
It is
not necessary to treat, since symptoms are not expected yet
|
Moths: |
The
number of Lobesia botrana captures is still high ( up to 83 males), but
since first glomerulus were not observed yet, so far it is not necessary to
apply any insecticide in the grapevines.
|
KIWI |
Bacteria: |
Given the
environmental conditions of this spring and the identification of bacteria
causing bacterial canker of kiwifruit (Pseudomonas syringae and P.
viridiflava) in several samples received in our laboratory it is advised
to treat with a cupric-based product.
|
CAMELLIA |
Chloropulvinaria floccifera: |
Scale
insects in nymph stage belonging to this species have been detected in several
camellia plants growing in different areas in the province. In certain sites
first females were also observed. Insecticides should be applied before
egg-laying.
